Baris Topkaya / Turkey

Barış Topkaya is the founder and President of Trout and Partners İstanbul.

He has a 14 years of hands-on experience at top marketing positions in Turkey. He is specialized on strategy, basing his discipline on positioning and differentiation.

He started his business career in Unilever Turkey and held the responsibility of several different product groups for more than 4 years. He was assigned as the head of Strategy Department in Vestel (the biggest TV producer of Europe). Other relevant experiences before joining Trout and Partners team and founding İstanbul office are that of marketing manager position at Turkcell (Turkey’s leading GSM operator and the only Turkish company quoted in NYSE) and Vice president position at Superonline (Turkey’s leading ISP).

With his substantial background and several important consultancy projects in GSM, internet, media, FMCG, service, banking, retail and textile fields he is one of the authorities on strategy in Turkey. Barış Topkaya is also a frequent speaker on differentiation and positioning topics.
